Question Answered On Planet Insomnia

QUESTION ANSWERED ON PLANET INSOMNIA:

I don't know about you but I get a lot of my best thinking done in the middle of the night when my brain won't shut off. Tonight was no exception. I finally answered a question that's been bugging me for years.

I had been explaining to a group that what we value determines what we do, and that identifying the shared values of their audience would allow them to engage and influence more powerfully than before.

THEN SOMEONE ASKED: "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?"

It's the most basic question. But it's like asking how I know the sky is blue. It's been studied by so many scientific disciplines we just know it's true. It just is.

But how do you boil down decades of study into a simple explanation of why values, particularly when paired with empirical data that pinpoints the shared values of a specific target audience, are such a powerful tool?

AT 3:25 AM I FINALLY ANSWERED THE QUESTION.

I made a Venn diagram that shows the intersection of proofs from three major scientific fields of study.

It shows how values sit at the intersection of psychology, sociology and neuroscience as the catalyst of behavior.

And now that we have that catalyst, those values, in a global database – well – the rest is easy.

Have a look. I'm off to bed. 👋🏻
