Values-Driven Recruitment & Engagement

The technology sector, like many others, has been reeling from massive People & Culture change. Waves of layoffs, the move to hybrid or work-from-home arrangements, and the phenomenon of "quiet quitting"  are just a few of the issues that People & Culture professionals are dealing with.

So when my friends at Tech Talent North asked me to be the closing keynote for their annual gathering of People & Culture professionals, of course I said yes.

More than ever, it is imperative to understand shared values.

If you don't know what people are driven by; what they are looking for in their life, making decisions about culture, engagement, recruitment, and retention remains a risky undertaking. When you do know what people value, the risk of making a wrong move is greatly reduced.

People will trust an employer 20% more, and be 40% more engaged if they feel values alignment with their work.

These three short clips are examples from the study we did on technology employees. I hope they help you understand this essential type of team-member, and how to engage with them more deeply than ever before. Based on what they value.
